Pennsylvania band ‘The Districts’ release their debut LP ‘A Flourish and a Spoil’ on 9th February 2015, via Fat Possum Records (produced by John Congleton of St. Vincent, The Walkmen fame). To celebrate this fact, and their up-coming European tour (see details below), we’ve decided that it only right and proper to make ‘4th And Roebling’ today’s ‘GIGsoup Track of the Day’.
If the four week wait is all a little too much then check out the bands self-titled EP they released last January, and if you still need an additional fix then the BBC Sessions release should provide the perfect antidote.
‘The Districts’ are a band very much on the up-and-up and have already graced the ‘Reading and Leeds Festival’ while also offering a support role to the likes of ‘Dr. Dog’, ‘Deer Tick’ and ‘Temples’.
Oh, and incase it ever comes up in a pub quiz then ‘The Districts’ named their new single, “4th and Roebling,” after an intersection in Brooklyn. More specifically, it’s named after the first place they parked their car during their inaugural trip into New York to play a gig.
The Districts will be touring Europe from February 2015. These dates are…
February 2nd 2015 – Pop Up du Label, Paris
February 3rd 2015 – 100 Club, London
