De Lux showWith disco-funk, Krautrock and wonderful baselines on the agenda it is little wonder that the new LP from Los Angeles Nu Disco pair ‘De Lux’ is one to watch out for in 2015.

In celebration of the forthcoming album release (‘Generation’ is out on the 22nd June 2015, via Innovative Leisure) we have today made new single ‘Oh Man the Future’ today’s GIGsoup Track of the Day. The track features ‘Sean Guerins’ spoken-word fears of a dystopian new future. Sound a bit heavy? No, not at all – this is genuine and inventive uplifting funk with a baseline that demands much foot-tapping and head-nodding.

Sophomore LP ‘Generation’ follows hot on the heels of the bands 2014 debut release ‘Voyage’ which enabled the band to take influences and create a sound all their own—a synthesis of post-punk, disco, funk and synth wizardry that drew inspiration from the same combination of agitation and exhilaration that helped LCD Soundsystem and Talking Heads deliver their unique brand of danceable social commentary. Now that they’ve found their sound, De Lux are creating a story to go with it on their new album ‘Generation’.
