David Bentley, based in Oldham, Greater Manchester (someone has to be) is an analyst and consultant in the air transport business. A drummer in is his youth until he realised he couldn’t keep time he can’t even claim a lifelong love affair with popular music, having forgone it for most of the early 2000s; a particularly thin time in his opinion.
But having discovered several U.S. artists he’d never heard of thanks to a newspaper article casually read in 2006 he has spent much of his leisure time since seeking out new artists that he thinks deserve a wider audience than they have acquired. The preferred ‘genre’ is loosely Indie folk-pop-rock though he is happy to stray well beyond those parameters where it is merited; indeed he has written a series of ‘Classic Track’ reviews, a task that remains a work-in-progress.
Keen to link his professional work with his hobby at any opportunity he recently wrote a report on the co-operation (or, often, lack of it) between the music industry and the aviation and tourism businesses.
